Martin-Latimer Type 2
Criswell - GA CR4
Serial # 23570

Note: Early purchase…not particularly pretty and not very symmetrical
ML2
Martin-Latimer Type 2
Criswell - GA CR4
Serial # 22435
Rarity: R1
Grade: XF
Note: Non-symmetrical cut with some foxing on back
ML2
Martin-Latimer Type 2
Criswell - GA CR4
Serial # 35435
Rarity: R1
Grade: AU
Note: Neat gutter folds across the width of this note
ML2
Martin-Latimer Type 2
Criswell - GA CR4
Serial # 1643
Rarity: R1
Grade: XF
Note: All 4 margins present (just barely). I’m guessing I purchased this note because it was signed by P. Thweatt for Comptroller General (my other 3 examples were signed by Bloodworth.) Red Overprint kinda low, but not low enough to consider this a Type 2B
ML2A
Martin-Latimer Type 2A
Criswell - GA CR4A
Serial # 33076
Rarity: R7
Grade: XF
Note: Feel kinda guilty for calling this a Type 2A (the red overprint barely touches letters on the ‘T’ and ‘E’.) Ink Rot on the ‘J’ on Comptroller signature. Fuzzy Treasury Stamp on obverse… I’ve come to recognize this as rolling ‘left to right’ stamping motion instead of ‘up and down’ stamping motion. Finally…the left plate letter ‘A’ is missing the Crossbar (which technically means this note is a Type E (R6); however, I consider this a plate ‘wear and tear’ issue occurring on notes ~>=20001 and serial #s ending in a ‘1’ or ‘6’ (indicating the top note on a plate of 5 vertical notes)
ML2A
Martin-Latimer Type 2A
Criswell - GA CR4A
Serial # 32557
Rarity: R7
Grade: XF
Note: Nice High Red Overprint as compared to my other ML2A example
ML2A
Martin-Latimer Type 2A
Criswell - GA CR4A
Serial # 45753
Rarity: R7
Grade: AU
Note: My nicest example for this Type variety…the red overprint completely clears the top of ‘The State of Georgia’
ML2A
Martin-Latimer Type 2A
Criswell - GA CR4A
Serial # 45760
Rarity: R7
Grade: AU
Note: Pretty example of a high red overprint for this variety. It appears to be printed on the same sheet of paper as another example I have posted (45753) as all denominations >$1 were printed 10 (5 x 2) to a sheet. I purchased this note in a lot of ~30 notes in 2022.
ML2B
Martin-Latimer Type 2B
Criswell - GA CR4B
Serial # 562
Rarity: R8
Grade: XF
Note: Kinda of feel guilty calling this a Type 2B (because the read overprint barely touches bottom of the ‘Ten Dollars’; however, the red overprint certainly ‘partially covers signatures’. P Thweatt signed this note
ML2B
Martin-Latimer Type 2B
Criswell - GA CR4B
Serial # 562
Rarity: R8
Grade: AU
Note: Clean ML2B with slight ink blotting
ML2B
Martin-Latimer Type 2B
Criswell - GA CR4B
Serial # 42085
Rarity: R8
Grade: AU
Note: Clean example of a Low Overprint for this variety with 4 borders. I purchased this note in a lot of ~30 notes in 2022.
ML2D
Martin-Latimer Type 2D
Criswell - GA CR4D
Serial # 24982
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: Purchased from Hugh Shull. This variety is missing the Georgia Treasury stamp. This is a beautiful, 4 margin, UNC example. Thrilled to find this!
ML2D
Martin-Latimer Type 2D
Criswell - GA CR4D
Serial # 24989
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: This variety is missing the Georgia Treasury stamp. This is a beautiful, 4 margin, UNC example. It was printed on the same sheet as my other example (24982.) I purchased this note in a lot of ~30 notes in 2022.
ML2X
Martin-Latimer Type 2X
Criswell - GA CR4 Unlisted
Serial # 24917
Rarity: Undefined
Grade: AU
Note: One of my top finds this year, and one of my cheapest acquisitions of the year. Found this on Invaluable’s Auction Site. This is the first example of a ML2 double-stamp I’ve seen. If it weren’t for a tiny piece of ink rot on the bottom of the “J” or TJ Bloodworth’s signature and a tiny crease on obverse bottom left corner, this would be an UNC note. 4 complete margins and a great example of a double-stamp. Interesting that it is only 65 serial numbers apart from the note I have exhibited with no Treasury stamp (#24982)
