ML5
Martin-Latimer Type 5
Criswell - GA CR1
Serial # 13931
Rarity: R1

Note: Clean example, lots of stamp ink residue on obverse due to sheets being stacked

ML5
Martin-Latimer Type 5
Criswell - GA CR1
Serial # 7931
Rarity: R1
Grade: CU
Note: Clean example with all 4 borders in CU condition. Pretty note

ML5
Martin-Latimer Type 5
Criswell - GA CR1
Serial # 4034
Rarity: R1
Grade: UNC
Note: Clean example with all 4 borders…some ink residue on obverse due to sheets being stacked. Also, small pinhole on the obverse left center margin. Otherwise, a perfect example

ML5A
Martin-Latimer Type 5A
Criswell - GA CR1C
Serial # 6087
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: This note has a sister note (#6088) which is the plate note for Type 5A in the Martin-Latimer Reference guide for the State of Georgia Treasury notes. Presumably all 5 notes on this sheet would have high Red Overprints

ML5A
Martin-Latimer Type 5A
Criswell - GA CR1C
Serial # 9152
Rarity: R10
Grade: AU
Note: Pretty note…only my second example with vertical stamps. There is a neat ‘circle/dot’ besides Thweatt’s signature that bleed through on back and preserved the white paper color. I’d love to know what caused this.

ML5A
Martin-Latimer Type 5A
Criswell - GA CR1C
Serial # 6088
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: This high overprint example is only 1 serial # removed from another posted (6087) on this site. 4 Clean borders. This note was acquired along with ~30 other notes in a lot purchased in 2022.

ML5B
Martin-Latimer Type 5B
Criswell - GA CR1A
Serial # 6217
Rarity: R10
Grade: XF
Note: An ‘academic’ example of a right sided double stamp (two sets of pillars if you zoom in.) Another example of ink rot between the ‘tt’ in Thweatt

ML5B
Martin-Latimer Type 5B
Criswell - GA CR1A
Serial # 1211
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: The left stamp is pretty light…looks like the ‘stamper’ stamped the right side and then re-stamped it (shifting about 1/2” to the right) after re-inking his stamp

ML5C
Martin-Latimer Type 5C
Criswell - GA CR1B
Serial # 6235
Rarity: R10
Grade: XF
Note: An ‘academic’ example of a left sided double stamp (note the two sets of pillars if you zoom in.) Slight examples of ink rot in the ‘6’ of the serial number

ML5C
Martin-Latimer Type 5C
Criswell - GA CR1B
Serial # 9140
Rarity: R10
Grade: UNC
Note: An true example of a left sided double stamp (unlike my other academic examples) Pretty note with 4 clean borders. This note was purchased along with ~30 other notes in 2022 as part of a lot.

ML5D
Martin-Latimer Type 5D
Criswell - GA CR1 Unlisted
Serial # 6106
Rarity: ?R10
Grade: XF
Note: A low red overprint is not identified as a type in the Martin-Latimer reference guide…so I’m guessing at the R10 rating. Again…slight ink rot in the ‘tt’ of Thweatt

ML5D
Martin-Latimer Type 5D
Criswell - GA CR1 Unlisted
Serial # 6104
Rarity: ?R10
Grade: AU
Note: A low red overprint is not identified as a type in the Martin-Latimer reference guide…so I’m guessing at the R10 rating. Arguably…not a low overprint as some of the red protector touches the written denomination, but the signatures have been touched. I’m really interested in the stamp on the obverse right…and it appears someone stamped a sheet on top and touched the edge of this note with another stamp
